The series of images displayed in this show surround the theme of shock and surprise.
Throughout our entire lives we periodically come to points in which we must
come to terms with the reality of a situation. This project is a metaphor
for the emotions and stress I have experienced in such a situation.
Artist Biography
Patricia Lois Nuss was born in Narragansett, R.I. on June 2nd 1985 where
she lived and grew up with her father. She traveled throughout
the U.S. in her family’s mobile home exposing herself to many people
and cultures. From the age of twelve to the age of fifteen Patricia
became closer to nature, sunshine, and new people while living
in a campground on Fiesta Key. Searching for better education on
the dawn of high school, she and her father relocated once more
to Naples, Florida. Here she succeeded in school as an honor student
and artist. In 2002 she was awarded a Fine Arts Achievement award,
in 2003 she worked as a volunteer intern and darkroom assistant
at the Von Lieberg Art Center. In high school she was voted most
artistic in her class by her peers. She began at the University
of Central Florida in the summer of 2003. She concentrated her
studies on social and liberal studies until finally committing
herself to Fine Art Photography. Only months from graduation, she
has interned with a successful photography representative, assisted
a budding commercial photographer and currently works closely with
an accomplished wedding photographer. She also has been an active
participant in philanthropy, particularly with the children at
Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis, FL. Her concentration in fine art photography
and her love of helping people has led her to consider a masters
program in art therapy.
